In trauma, we are cut off from the body to protect us from pain the nervous system decides is too much. Short term, this is a great survival strategy, but long term this dampens our ability to feel safe, connected and empowered. By increasing the capacity to feel good and supported, symptoms decrease, and any remaining trauma can be processed more easily.
Healing from trauma does not simply happen in the mind, and it can be challenging without the support of a diet that restores internal rhythms and daily practices that tap into the body’s wisdom and forge new pathways in the brain and nervous system.
