Brainspotting, developed by Dr. David Grand, is an evidence-based therapeutic modality that utilizes the gaze of the eyes to access deep parts of the brain that store our memories. Through this method, we can access and release unconscious traumatic memories.
Our clinicians use a pointer as a focal point. As the client follows the pointer with their eyes, different access points in the brain will be activated. The clinician will find the points in the brain where the trauma or activation is stored and facilitate its release through dual attunement. A certain type of music may also be used to enhance the process as the sessions progress.
Brainspotting has been reported by clients to be most effective for healing compared to other modalities including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, EFT (Tapping), Traditional Talk Therapy, Art Therapy, & More!
